What Is the Best Time for This Camping Safari?
This route can be arranged during much of the year, but the experience varies by season.
June to October
The drier months are popular for northern Tanzania safaris. Tarangire can be especially rewarding as wildlife gathers near remaining water sources, while the Serengeti may offer opportunities to observe different stages of the Great Migration depending on the location and date.
November to December
The short rains can bring greener landscapes, and wildlife viewing remains possible. Conditions vary with the weather and the destination.
January to March
This period can be attractive for greener scenery and seasonal wildlife viewing in parts of the northern circuit. The best Serengeti area depends on the migration's natural movements.
April to May
This is generally a wetter period in many parts of northern Tanzania. Road conditions and travel times can be affected, so the route should be reviewed against current conditions.
If your main interest is the Great Migration, tell us your travel dates when requesting a quotation. Migration herds move naturally, so neither a specific location nor a river crossing can be guaranteed.
