After breakfast at your lodge or camp, we embark on a journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, we have the option to make a stop at Olduvai Gorge, a site steeped in history dating back to the earliest days of humanity. It was here that the renowned anthropologists Drs. Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of 'Nutcracker Man' and 'Handy Man,' crucial links in the human evolution chain.
Our visit will include Lake Magadi, a large shallow alkaline lake in the southwest corner of the crater, where you can observe flamingos, hippos, and other water birds.
After an eventful game drive, we'll ascend from the crater and drive to our lodge for a refreshing evening, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Today, we set our sights on Tarangire National Park after enjoying breakfast at the lodge. The drive takes us through stunning coffee plantations, where you'll be warmly welcomed by the towering Baobab trees and the local Maasai people. In Tarangire, we'll embark on an exciting game drive, where you can expect to encounter a variety of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and particularly large herds of elephants. Predators like lions, hyenas, leopards, and more also call this park home. We'll return to the park headquarters for lunch.
In the evening, we'll embark on another game drive along the Tarangire River, offering opportunities to spot more iconic wildlife. After an eventful day, we'll head back to our lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Our final day includes a visit to Lake Manyara National Park, where you'll have the chance to observe wildlife and even consider a cultural visit to the nearby village of Mto Wa Mbu. Nestled in the Great Rift Valley, Lake Manyara National Park is characterized by lush green forests nourished by underground water streams from the Ngorongoro highlands. The park's highlights include its famous tree-climbing lions, pink flamingos, hot springs, elephants, wildebeest, impala, zebras, hippos, and a variety of bird species.
In the afternoon, we'll return to Arusha, concluding our journey with a scenic drive of approximately two hours.
