Terms and Conditions

Acceptance

Making a booking with Bruno African Safari (“the Company”) is taken as acceptance by the customer of these Terms and Conditions.

Booking Tours

a) Making a Booking

Booking a safari or tour is often an interactive process. After clients contact us and have an idea of what they want to do, we communicate back and forth to refine the itinerary and recommend the best package for their preferred travel dates. This process ensures that you book the right safari for your needs.

Once we have finalized your tour details and you are ready to proceed with the agreed quote, we will send payment details so that you can make the required deposit. After receiving your payment, we will send a confirmation of your booking.

You will then receive registration forms to fill out, allowing us to collect essential details such as inbound flight information and dietary restrictions. Our Registration Form allows limited special requests, such as dietary needs, to be entered into the contract. We will do our best to honor these requests and will communicate in advance if any cannot be accommodated.

However, any requests not included in the Registration Form do not form part of the contract, regardless of prior communication. The Company also reserves the right to decline to supply a trip at any time before confirming the booking and issuing receipt paperwork to the Client or their representative.

b) Price Guarantee

Once your booking is confirmed and your deposit received, Bruno African Safari guarantees to honor the quoted prices for each individual item, except in the following cases:

Estimated price increases:
When bookings are made for a period for which supplier prices are not yet available (e.g., one year in advance), we may include an estimated price increase. Such adjustments will be finalized before your final payment is due, and you agree to cover any increases up to twice the estimated amount.

Government-regulated fees and taxes:
In Tanzania, government authorities may impose sudden changes in national park fees or taxes. The Client or their representative is responsible for paying any additional charges of this nature.

Fuel surcharges:
Occasionally, sudden increases in fuel costs may occur. If our suppliers pass these costs on to us, they will also be charged to the Client or their representative.

Major errors:
In the rare event of a significant pricing error where we have undercharged for a tour, the Company reserves the right to withdraw the offer.

Exchange rate fluctuations:
If our suppliers impose surcharges due to major changes in international exchange rates, the Client or their representative will be responsible for covering such costs.

Payment Terms

Payments are scheduled as follows:

  • Camping Safaris: 10% deposit required.

  • Lodge Safaris: 40% deposit required.

  • Tailor-Made Safaris: Deposit between 10% – 70%, depending on arrangements.

  • Final Payments: Due on arrival (cash preferred and accepted).

Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit card, or online payment platforms (e.g., PesaPal). Banking details will be provided to facilitate payment.

Important: All payments must be made to company accounts based in Tanzania. Bruno African Safari does not maintain any offshore accounts.

For group bookings, separate payments from individuals are accepted; however, communication should always take place through the designated group leader, who remains financially responsible for the entire trip.

Payment and Invoices

All payments and installments must be completed before the tour start date.

After making a bank/wire transfer, please email a copy of the payment receipt to the Company. We will confirm receipt via email.

All payment-related costs (such as 3.5% surcharges for credit card/online payments or bank transfer fees) are the responsibility of the client.

Currency

All quotations are provided in US Dollars (USD) and Euros (EUR).
Payments may be made in any of these currencies by cash or bank transfer to our official Tanzanian bank account.

Tour Element Modifications

a) By the Company

While every effort is made to adhere to all itineraries, Bruno African Safari reserves the right to make necessary changes for your comfort or safety.

If delays or itinerary changes occur due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., flight delays, bad weather, strikes, civil unrest, or natural events), any additional costs (e.g., accommodation, meals, or flight change fees) are the responsibility of the client. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance to cover such cases.

If room availability or unforeseen issues (e.g., lodge closures, road damage) prevent us from confirming the trip exactly as quoted, small modifications may be made without affecting the contract’s validity, such as:

  • Replacing up to two lodges/hotels with similar-quality options.

  • Rearranging the order of destinations.

  • Adjusting the number of nights at each location.

  • Changing transport suppliers.

For any changes that reduce the cost, the client will be charged at the lower price. For changes that increase costs, we will notify you before proceeding.

b) By the Client

If you wish to change your booking after paying a deposit, an administrative amendment fee may apply.
Cancellations of any part of the booking are subject to standard cancellation charges.
Additions to an existing booking can generally be made without extra fees.

Tour Element Modifications

a) Time Before Trip Policy

Time Before Departure

Refund Policy

- 45+ days: Refund less 15% admin & processing fee (includes bank charges, supplier deposits). Refunds processed within 21 working days.

- 30–44 days: 50% refund or 100% credit note (client’s choice).

- 15–29 days: No refund, but 100% credit note provided.

- 0–14 days: No refund; credit only in serious medical or legal emergencies (proof required).

b) Cancellations by the Company

In rare cases where a supplier cannot provide services (e.g., due to weather, park regulations, or other uncontrollable factors), Bruno African Safari will seek equivalent alternatives.

If a tour must be canceled for safety reasons; such as terrorism, natural disasters, or political instability; all land payments received will be refunded in full. The Company will not be liable for incidental costs (e.g., visas, vaccinations, or non-refundable flights).

Insurance

Comprehensive travel and medical insurance is strongly recommended for all participants.
Your policy should cover:

  • Trip cancellation or curtailment

  • Medical expenses due to illness or accident

  • Emergency evacuation or repatriation

  • Loss or theft of baggage or personal belongings

All sporting or high-risk activities (e.g., scuba diving, mountain climbing, horse riding) are undertaken at the client’s own risk.

Failure to obtain adequate insurance absolves Bruno African Safari of any legal liability.

Tour Suitability and Behavior

We reserve the right to terminate, without notice, the participation of any traveler whose behavior causes or is likely to cause distress, danger, or annoyance to others, or who damages property or acts illegally.

Clients must disclose any health or mobility limitations at the time of booking and update us of any changes before the trip begins.

Problems During a Trip

If any issue arises during your safari, notify your guide or the Company immediately so corrective action can be taken.
Complaints made after the trip without prior notice during the issue will not be considered.

Liabilities and Limitations

Neither Bruno African Safari nor any person acting on its behalf shall be liable for losses, injuries, or delays caused by circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to: flight delays, accidents, wild animal attacks, weather conditions, disease outbreaks, government actions, strikes, war, or acts of terrorism.

We do not accept liability for acts or omissions of third-party service providers (e.g., hotels, airlines, transport companies) outside our direct control.

Additional Excursions and Activities

Excursions or activities not operated by Bruno African Safari do not form part of your contract.
We accept no liability for any services or activities provided by independent third parties.

Airline and Flight Issues

In case of flight cancellations, delays, or denied boarding, compensation must be sought directly from the airline as per international regulations. Bruno African Safari is not liable for airline-related claims.

Transfer Problems

Should a scheduled transport service (e.g., plane or boat) fail to operate, we will attempt to minimize disruptions, but the Company is not responsible for subsequent knock-on effects.

Health and Safety

Clients are responsible for obtaining required vaccinations and taking necessary health precautions before traveling.
Tanzania’s standards of hygiene and safety may differ from those in other regions; please travel accordingly prepared.

Terms and Conditions of Suppliers

Some tour components are provided by independent suppliers under their own terms and conditions, which may limit liability. Copies are available upon request.

Customer Protection

To protect our clients:

  • We prepay suppliers well in advance to ensure your bookings remain valid.

  • Profits are held separately until after your trip concludes.

We also require that all clients have valid travel insurance from the time of booking.

Legal Jurisdiction

Tanzanian Law will apply to the contract and to any quarrel, claim or other matter of any description that arises between us. All parties agree that any dispute, claim or other matter of any description that arises between us must be dealt with by the courts of Tanzania only.

Fraudulent Enquiries

Requests for quotations submitted under false pretenses (e.g., competitors or suppliers posing as clients) will be treated as fraudulent and pursued legally.
