Detailed 2-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Your Starting Point → Tarangire National Park → Game Drive → Migombani Camp

Your safari begins from the location that best fits your travel plans.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire is one of the highlights of northern Tanzania and is particularly well known for its large elephant population and distinctive baobab-studded scenery.

The park covers approximately 2,850 km² and takes its name from the Tarangire River, which runs through the park.

During the dry season, wildlife can gather around permanent water sources, making the Tarangire River and surrounding habitats important areas for game viewing.

Full-Day Game Drive

You spend the day exploring Tarangire with your safari guide.

Rather than following a fixed route, your guide chooses areas according to recent wildlife activity, the season and your interests.

Possible wildlife encounters include: Elephants, Lions, Buffalo, Giraffes, Zebras, Wildebeest, Impalas, Gazelles, Warthogs, Hyenas, Monkeys and baboons

Numerous bird species

Day 2: Migombani Camp → Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha

Your second safari day begins early.

Because you have a full crater experience ahead of you and will return to Arusha later in the day, an early start allows you to make the most of the available wildlife-viewing time.

Early Morning: Drive to Ngorongoro

After breakfast, depart Migombani Camp and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The Ngorongoro Crater gate is approximately 40 km from Migombani, with the camp currently quoting around 45 minutes by road under normal conditions.

As you climb toward the Ngorongoro Highlands, the landscape changes.

The warm lowlands around Mto wa Mbu gradually give way to the cooler highland environment around Ngorongoro.

Afternoon: Ngorongoro → Arusha

After completing your crater game drive, begin the ascent from the crater floor.

Continue your journey through the Ngorongoro Highlands and onward toward Arusha.

The drive provides an opportunity to enjoy more of northern Tanzania's changing landscapes as you gradually leave the safari areas behind.

Depending on the road conditions and your final schedule, you can expect to reach Arusha later in the afternoon.

Your guide will drop you at your hotel, airport or another agreed location.

Important Information for Zanzibar Travelers

If you are starting from Zanzibar, the safari requires an additional travel connection between the island and northern Tanzania.

The exact flight options depend on your travel date and operating schedule.

For this reason, we will coordinate the safari vehicle and accommodation around your confirmed flight arrangements.

Clients starting from Arusha, Moshi or Kilimanjaro International Airport can travel directly by road and do not require this additional flight connection.
