During this safari, you will visit Tarangire National Park, spend two nights in Serengeti National Park, explore Ngorongoro Crater and finish your journey with a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park.

You will stay at different campsites along the way, including Migombani Camp, Nyani Campsite in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Simba Campsite.

Each park offers something different. You may see large groups of elephants in Tarangire, lions and other wild animals in the Serengeti, many animals in Ngorongoro Crater, and monkeys and birds in Lake Manyara.

Choose Your Starting Point

You can arrange this safari according to where you are staying or arriving in Tanzania. Tell us your starting location so we can plan the pickup and travel arrangements.

Arusha

If you are staying in Arusha, we can collect you from your hotel and drive to Tarangire National Park to begin your safari.

Zanzibar

If you are staying in Zanzibar, you will need a flight connection to northern Tanzania before starting the road safari. To make the most of Day 1 in Tarangire, we generally recommend arriving on the mainland the day before the safari begins.

Kilimanjaro International Airport

If you are arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, we can arrange an airport pickup. If your flight arrives late, staying near the airport or in Arusha the night before may be better.

Moshi

If you are staying in Moshi, we can arrange a morning pickup from your hotel. The departure time will depend on the road journey and the time needed to enjoy the Tarangire game drive.

Detailed 6-Day Camping Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Starting Point → Tarangire National Park → Migombani Camp

Main destination: Tarangire National Park
Overnight stay: Migombani Camp

Your safari begins with pickup from your agreed starting point, followed by a drive to Tarangire National Park, passing through local villages, farmland and the beautiful countryside of northern Tanzania. After entering the park, enjoy a game drive in search of elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, wildebeest and other wildlife among the open grasslands and giant baobab trees. Stop for a picnic lunch before continuing your afternoon game drive, with opportunities to watch animals in their natural surroundings and take photographs. Later in the afternoon, drive to Migombani Camp near Mto wa Mbu, where you can relax, enjoy dinner and spend the night in a furnished safari tent or camping accommodation, with facilities including hot showers, toilets, a restaurant and swimming pool. Overnight: Migombani Camp.

Day 2: Migombani Camp → Serengeti National Park → Nyani Campsite

After breakfast, leave Migombani Camp and drive to Serengeti National Park. The journey takes you through the beautiful landscapes of northern Tanzania before reaching the Serengeti, known for its wide plains and rich wildlife. Along the way, enjoy game viewing opportunities and stop to take photographs when time allows. A picnic lunch will be provided during the journey before you continue toward Nyani Campsite. On arrival, settle into your campsite, enjoy dinner and relax after a long day of travel and wildlife viewing. Overnight: Nyani Campsite, Serengeti National Park.

Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park, exploring its wide plains and searching for lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes and other wildlife. Your guide will choose the best areas to visit based on the season and recent animal sightings. Depending on your travel dates, you may also have the opportunity to see the Great Migration, when large herds of wildebeest and zebras move in search of fresh grass and water. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before continuing your afternoon game drive. In the late afternoon, return to Nyani Campsite for dinner and your second night in the Serengeti.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park → Ngorongoro Conservation Area → Simba Campsite

After breakfast, pack your camping equipment and leave Serengeti National Park, enjoying some wildlife viewing along the way as you travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Continue through the beautiful landscapes of northern Tanzania and climb into the cooler Ngorongoro Highlands. Later in the day, arrive at Ngorongoro Simba Campsite, near the crater rim, where you can settle in, enjoy dinner and relax before the next day's game drive in Ngorongoro Crater. Remember to bring a warm jacket, as temperatures can be cool in the evening and early morning.

Overnight: Ngorongoro Simba Campsite.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive → Migombani Camp

Overnight stay: Migombani Camp

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before driving into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. Explore its grasslands, wetlands and small forests while looking for lions, elephants, buffalo, black rhinos, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas and other wildlife. Your guide will help you spot animals and explain more about the crater, although sightings cannot be guaranteed. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated area, then continue with wildlife viewing before ascending from the crater and driving to Migombani Camp near Mto wa Mbu. In the evening, relax, enjoy dinner and take in the beautiful views of Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley before your final safari day. Overnight: Migombani Camp.

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park → Final Destination

Meals: Breakfast and lunch, according to your package

After breakfast at Migombani Camp, travel to nearby Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive through its forests, open grasslands and lakeshore. Look for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, wildebeest, monkeys, hippos and a variety of birds. The park is also known for its tree-climbing lions, although sightings are not guaranteed. Enjoy wildlife viewing and lunch before leaving the park and driving to your agreed drop-off point in Arusha, Moshi, Kilimanjaro International Airport or another arranged location. If you are flying to Zanzibar on the same day, your flight time should allow enough time for the game drive and road transfer. This brings your six-day Tanzania camping safari to an end.
